Join expert Hosts who support Lori for Supervisor to learn about personal food choices as another tool in the toolbox for improving Health outcomes (40% of SD County budget is for health), Climate Action (San Diego County is 2nd largest in CA), and Ethical Congruence. These are issues which Lori has researched deeply, and considers to be tools in the toolbox to improve the health and welfare of the residents and employers of San Diego County in the 21st Century.

Tracy Childs, Plant-Based Nutrition chef and educator at Veg-Appeal, will demonstrate yummy and healthful plant-based cooking and talk about this opportunity to improve health outcomes for more people. And you will get to sample it!

Dave Engel, longtime Climate Action activist, will present research on the contribution of animal agriculture to greenhouse gases and climate change, And how education about personal plant-based food choices can make a big impact.

Ellen Ericksen and Toni Falcone, well-known Animal Rights advocates, will talk about the ethics of animal agriculture, entertainment, experimentation and testing.

Martha Sullivan, Grassroots Oasis owner, has been an activist in each of these issue areas, as well as other social and economic justice advocacy, and considers them all to be interconnected.

We will also have wine, beer and soft drinks.

San Diego MeToo March- Saturday, November 25, 2017. (Photo courtesy of Martha Sullivan)

My volunteers and I were inspired by the participants and volunteers who attended the #MeToo March  Saturday, November 25 to protest sexual harassment and assault.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: I encourage you to keep active in this important issue. Help survivors of harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence and other crimes recover from their trauma. Make sure they get assistance from local non-profit and governmental agencies. Refer them to organizations that provide counseling, emergency housing, and other services.

WHO TO CONTACT: Here are phone numbers, addresses and contact information for support organizations, that were distributed at the November 25 MeToo March. These groups provide assistance for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and other crimes.

Please share and encourage others to support survivors in their communities:

BACKGROUND: November 25th, 2017, is designated as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, in remembrance of the three Mirabal sisters who were brutally assassinated in 1960 for their political activism in the Dominican Republic.

We come together in solidarity for all who have been assaulted: verbally, physically or sexually. The time has arrived to increase awareness to the depth of this problem, deepen our stand against it and come together to heal and move into celebrating with love the lives of all !

We have had more than enough – No More Abuse in Any Form!

Many thanks to those who joined  us November 25th in San Diego.
